Born in London, Kentucky, I have lived in Sumter County since the age of 2. I attended Florida State University where I graduated with a degree in Business and a major in Professional Golf Course Management. I have been a PGA member since 2004.

Hometown:  Summerfield, FL

A true Central Florida native, I was born and raised in nearby Summerfield, FL. Upon graduating from The Villages Charter School in 2009, I traveled to the mountains of Eastern Kentucky where I attended The University of Pikeville, graduating in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and was a 4 year starter in centerfield as a member of their baseball team. My journey with golf began in high school when I joined the Varsity Golf team and later strengthened when I joined The Villages Golf & Tennis staff in 2018. I am currently in pursuit of my PGA Professional Certification and hope to achieve membership into this prestigious organization soon! When not on the golf course, I enjoy spending time with my wife Emily and watching our young son Brody grow, as well as spending time out in the great outdoors!

My husband Jerry and I first visited The Villages in 1998 but it wasn't until 2004 that we fully retired and moved here permanently. Leaving the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (yes, I'm a "yooper") the warm Florida sunshine feels great. After staying busy with all the sports and activities available, in 2013 I decided it was time to go to work for GMS. Interacting with the residents, golfers and co-workers keeps a smile on my face every day.

 My wife and I are both from Louisville Kentucky, home of the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Fried Chicken.  Shortly after we married we moved to Columbia South Carolina where I worked for a large IT company and I retired as VP and General Manager of their software services decision.  In 2002 After retiring we moved to Naples Florida area.  In 2016 we moved to the Villages to enjoy all that it has to offer.  Soon after moving here I went to work at Belle Glade where I work with a great staff.

Doug Meyer Golf Staff Supervisor

I grew up in Colorado where I married my high school sweetheart, Darlene. Our career paths took us and our two children to Oregon and the Northwest for over 20 years. I worked primarily in the Supply Chain areas of Planning, Distribution & Transportation for various food companies. We retired to The Villages in 2014. Darlene enjoys arts & crafts, while I enjoy playing golf. I began working at the The Villages Golf Division in 2016 at Belle Glade. We have a great team here, and I am proud to work with them.

I was born and raised in Michigan, married to my wife Lynette for 52 years and we have 2 sons and 4 grandchildren.  I worked 50 years in the insurance business, most recently  as the Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer and Secretary to the Board of Directors of a Michigan based Insurance Company.  During my career I attained the CLU, CHFC, RHU, REBC and HIA designations.  I enjoy playing golf and working at Belle Glade.
